Nahla Ariela, the meaning

New mommy Halle spoke to Access Hollywood about the name saying:

"We didn't have a name picked out until just before we left the hospital," Halle told Nancy. "For us it was hard to name the most important person in our life until we met her."

And the meaning? Nahla means "honeybee" in Arabic however, Star reports that "Nahla" is an Arabic word that means "a drink of water," while Ariela is the "Lion Of God" in Hebrew.

Nahla takes the surname of her father, model Gabriel Aubry, as opposed to that of her world-famous mother.

It seems like we have to wait to know why the newly parents choose this name for their little baby!

Nahla has two meanings in Arabic. It all depends on where you put the accent/emphasis. It does, indeed mean "honeybee" but, it also means a "drink of water." Again, this depends on how you use and pronounce it. I know this because I speak Arabic.
It is a beautiful name and I was all over this when I heard about it yesterday! I, for one, was very impressed that she chose this name. I have 3 good friends named Nahla. Also, wasn't that the name of Simba's friend in "The Lion King?" It's possible she liked the name from there. Anyway, that girl is going to be gorgeous.

I rather call her honey bee than Nahla. I guess I am the only one who isn't crazy about the name.
